HAMBDEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) – An Ohio man reportedly caused a three-car collision which resulted in serious injuries after he accidentally dropped a doughnut while driving.
According to a citation document from the Ohio State Highway Patrol obtained by People, multiple fire departments responded to a car crash involving three vehicles with “heavy damage.”
“Updated information while en route confirmed that three vehicles were involved, all with heavy damage, and one patient entrapped,” the Hambden Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post.
The crash was reportedly caused by one driver “reaching down for food,” per the citation.
The driver allegedly told police that he was not familiar with the area and dropped his doughnut while reaching for his coffee which momentarily distracted him, local outlet WJW reported. The driver hit two cars heading the opposite direction after swerving left of the center line, the outlet reported.
One person involved was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, another was treated at the scene, and a final one was hospitalized with serious injuries that included four broken ribs, a broken wrist, and a broken knee, per WJW.
