Oddity Central reported on the story of a Canadian woman who had both her arms bitten off by a shark while diving in the ocean because she saw it, swam to take a picture of it, but refused to swim away.
According to reports, the incident occurred on February 7, 2025, when the victim, a 55-year-old Canadian woman, was diving in the Turks and Caicos Islands, a British territory. While diving, she saw a large shark, nearly 2 meters long, and she swam close to it to take a picture. Suddenly, it attacked her, injuring both her arms.
However, she was helped back to land and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Her family then sent her to a hospital in Canada for further treatment. Unfortunately, doctors were unable to save her hands, and she had to have both hands amputated. Local authorities have also urged tourists to be extra careful, especially when diving.
